Photo library management: iPhoto and Aperture?

I am looking for input here. Presently I organize my photo libraries (yes two) using Aperture and iPhoto.

I use iPhoto primarily for what  I consider personal shots (shots w/ friends, family, camera phone etc) mostly because I had the library organized the way I wanted using folders and, when I first moved to a Mac, iPhoto understood this organization. I use Aperture for more what I consider my photo projects which has become the lion share of current photos taken.

Random travel photos

I end up traveling a fair amount for work and occasionally end up with loose photos ranging from the one off shot to mobile uploads. These shots documenting the rare glimmer of something-or-another are forever immortalized in this flickr set. Click the image below for the ever updating captures.

New blog design

Welcome to the new JohnMilner.com. A wile back I got lazy and sort of stopped updating the site. I’ve decided to try and be more proactive at posting. To celebrate this “relaunch” I’ve been working over the past two months to redesign the site. Regular visitors (I think that would be only me) will have seen the slow implementation of changes to the site.

Highlighting a few changes besides the design, first, I’ve added a new tab at the top for my tumblr like blog, Tumblelog, for more “life streaming” posts (for now these posts will also appear on the home page). Second, the other new tab at the top for photography will link to posts and galleries I’ve posted. Otherwise the updates are mostly cosmetic.

Besides linking to my John Milner twitter account on the right side, I’ve decided to test out a new twitter account that will post blog updates (will post more on this later), so feel free to grab the RSS feed or email updates on the right side or the blog update twitter feed here at @JMBlogUpdate.

First photo with my new 50D

So i recently broke down and bought a new digital SLR a Canon 50D and it arrived yesterday! Here’s one of the first shots from it (click to enlarge). I have a feeling this is going to start taking some time.
